Family Dinner vol. 2 by Snarky Puppy
The Family Dinner series is essentially this: Snarky Puppies invite artists who contribute some of their compositions. Puppy rearranges them and cuts them live with said artists. Volume 1 was very Soul/R&B, this second volume is both more diverse and more world music oriented. It's not as immediately engaging as vol 1, but probably more ambitious music-wise. While vol. 1 featured SP's horns very prominently, it's the keyboards & synths that come through the most on this one. I've only listened to it once and watched the DVD once. Good stuff with already a few winners (Molino Molero!) but I'll need repeat listens to really wrap my ears around the more ambitious pieces.
