Electric Slave by Black Joe Lewis

I discovered Black Joe Lewis on Youtube and promptly bought the excellent 'Tell 'Em What Your Name Is!' 'Electric Slave' is not quite of the same caliber, but highlights different aspects of his music. I was struck at times by a distinct Lou Reed vibe, not of course unrelated to the fact that his singing is somewhat off most of the time (but strangely it works). There's some Hendrix in there as well, and a good dollop of horns. It's good listening.
