Hellblazer - Original Sins by Jamie Delano and John Ridgway

Hellblazer - Original Sins by Jamie Delano and John Ridgway

Hellblazer has been on my read list for close to two decades, probably ever since I discovered the character in the first Sandman TPB. I've only started reading it properly very recently though. It must be said that the artwork didn't age well, and that was one of the major reasons I kept stalling. But I pushed through to the end of the first TPB with mixed feelings in the end. I like the character, Constantine, and I really like that the horror works as it should: reading Hellblazer makes me uncomfortable. What I like less is the very loose nature of a plot (assuming there is one) and the excessive importance of cross-references to other comics (Phantom Stranger, Swamp Thing, etc.) Still, I'll keep reading, the good outweigh the bad significantly for the time being.
