Chance
I hesitate to call this Season 1 as I can't imagine what Season 2 might look like (and Laurie himself said that since this series was adapted from a novel that doesn't have any follow up the chances of a season 2 were unlikely). This is a thriller of the best kind, one that takes its time to build up tension, that forks out into unexpected paths just when you thought you could see the finish line. One that even manages to postpone its own final resolution. Laurie is superb in this, but so is the rest of the cast, particularly Ethan Suplee who plays a truly scary D. The codes of noir are subtly paid hommage to in Chance, but not in a way that makes it predictable. A very good (and it seems to be, rather overlooked) series.
