Alone in Bad Company by Jeff Lang
I was a little concerned about this quasi solo Jeff Lang album. Solo can be a bit too sparse, no matter how good the musician. I shouldn't have been. Jeff Lang's writing is subtle and beautiful, making everything interesting. The album, unsurprisingly, is more melancholy than upbeat, but it's a joy to listen to from start to finish (with the last song "With You I Can Throw Away the Pills" being one of my favourite). Really worth a listen if you're into folk-rock-blues played by a virtuoso and superb singer-songwriter.
