Dune by Frank Herbert
It'd been close to a decade since I last reread Dune. I had some key moments and images in my mind but had otherwise forgotten most of the detail. It's still wonderfully evocative with probably the best blend of science-fiction and medieval social structures I've ever read about. In the last decade I heard more than one friend saying they disliked it (too action packed) or even couldn't read through it. I love it to bits and find it surprisingly more intellectual than I remembered, despite the frequent action. It really is a science-fiction masterpiece.
