Ice Age Chronicle of the Earth by Jiro Taniguchi.
I really like Taniguchi, and this early SciFi work intrigued me, because SciFi seems far removed from his vocabulary in most of his books I've read. Truth be told, this isn't very good. Sure, his graphical approach is already well formed and there are aspects of his characters that feel like Taniguchi, but this hodge podge of dystopian cataclysmic future elements is not very coherent, and the story itself doesn't really work too well. It has its moments, and is probably a good inspiration for survivalist post-apocalyptic rpgs, but as a comic book it doesn't really stand. I'll go reread A Distant Neighbourhood.
