Big Mess by Les Chevals & Allonymous
Les Chevals is one of the most interesting French Brass Bands, and not just because they have perfected the use of conches in their music. Here they pair with soul/funk singer Allonymous for a mix of funk with jazz undertones. There's nothing gobsmacking about Big Mess, but it more than delivers on Les Chevals' forte: solid grooves, inventive arrangements and great singing from Allonymous. Good stuff.
