Brassens, Echos du Monde by Various Artists
So I bought this on a whim, a collection of Brassens covers in all musical styles and from all over the world. Some are good covers, particularly the Japanese version of Les Amoureux des Bancs Publics or the Russian cover of Mourir pour des Idées. Most are anecdotal however, and past the initial surprise of hearing, say, an 8-bit version of La Mauvaise Réputation you know you won't revisit it. I can't in conscience recommend this despite the few gems.
