The Name of the Rose
I hadn't seen this in a couple of decades, but we watched it with my son last night. I had forgotten how amazing this movie was visually. The pacing is slow by today's standard, but it works fantastically to instill a really creepy atmosphere. The casting is amazing, from Connery himself to Perlman's unforgettable Salvatore. Slater's Adso was the only one that I felt wasn't quite up to the level of the rest (it feels like he's acting a bit too often). Still, the movie truly is a masterpiece, and I now have the urge to delve back into the book...
