Welcome to Lagos by Chibundu Onozo
I haven't read much African literature, and when I saw this in a store last spring I thought it would be a good occasion to start. It's a good start! Welcome To Lagos is easily red, yet exotic. It's critical, but endearing. The characters are deep and convincing. It's hard for me to say if this is what Nigeria is like, or even feels like, but it certainly is a Nigeria I found believable. Absolutely recommended.
