Courtney Crumrin 1-7 by Ted Naifeh
I first dicovered Courtney Crumring when I read a large collection (in French) some years ago. It was in black and white, and I hadn't really noticed that other stuff had been released since. I always enjoyed this dark and cynical young adult urban fantasy title, but never realised that there was actually an overarching plot and a proper ending. Reading the whole thing through was hugely satisfying, and I think I'll put my 7 year old daughter on to the first books. Highly recommended.
