Et à la fin ils meurent by Lou Lubie

Et à la fin ils meurent by Lou Lubie

I've been a massive fan of folk tales for as long as I remember, and my wife knows it which is why she got me this graphic novel entitled "And in the end they die". In this book, Lou Lubie deconstructs the misconception that fairy tales are for kids, or even naïve, or even moral for that matter. She combines a bit of literary archeology, going back to earlier versions of known stories by Italian author Basile with some psychology and a good dose of humour. Cannibalism, sex, incest and plenty more pepper the 16 tales Lubie focuses on. A fascinating read, wonderfully illustrated in this west meets manga graphic style. Absolutely recommended to everyone about the age of 12 and above.
