Asteroid City

Asteroid City

I've enjoyed (to varying degrees) nearly every Wes Anderson movie I've seen, but I may be starting to know his style to well, because Asteroid City was a mild disappointment. The visual style, whimsy and quirkiness is there, for sure, with a huge layer of famous actors on top, but there's simply too little story for the movie to make a lasting impression on me. While Budapest Hotel and Isle of Dogs are movies that I can very happily watch again, I don't think I'll find any reason to watch Asteroid City again. It gave me a few chuckles and it was a pleasant cinema experience, but there's little to feed the story addict in me.
