Moon Rappin' by Brother Jack McDuff
I bought this in a secondhand CD store in Tokyo in 2017, and after a couple of listens dismissed it. I remember thinking it was one more of those jazz artists who didn't manage to negotiate the 70s. I listened to it again today, and while it's not my favourite Jack McDuff, I can't hear what I so disliked 7 years ago. If anything, I find it a bit too easy on the ears. Like many Jimmy Smith albums from the same era, McDuff is overindulging in solos here, and the tracks seem endless with repetition. Still, it's very listenable...
