Babel by David B.

Babel by David B.

I'm a big fan of David B. with the exception of the few books where he retells his dreams which I find, unsurpisingly, aimless. I purchased the two existing tomes of Babel over 15 years ago and had very little memory of having read them. I read them in full last week, and all I can say is that I really wish the series had gone on. It's gorgeous, both in terms of narrative structure and colour. The closest it feels is to l'Ascension du Haut Mal (Epileptic) which is largely (and rightly) considered to be his masterpiece. As it stands, Babel will stand as an unfinished minor masterpiece.
