Le Grand Incident by Zelda
I bought this on a whim, in part because it belongs to a (small) series of graphic novels inspired by the Louvre museum (hit and miss, but some are stunning), and in part because its focus is nudity in art, a topic which I find a complicated as I find it fascinating. This is a fiction, in which the nude female statues of the Louvre, as well as the nude paintings soon after, decide to disappear. Only one woman, a cleaner, can communicate with the statues and understands why they simply no longer want to be on display. I don't want to spoil, but the plot development is interesting and not the prude direction which one might think would be at the heart of the story. It's funny, entertaining, enlightening, albeit on the naive side. Still, I really enjoyed it, and so did my daughter.
