Nine by Pelaez and Grabowski

Nine by Pelaez and Grabowski

A poetic and slightly bizarre science-fiction graphic novel that leans towards PK Dick but doesn't quite pull it off. We follow the approach to a theoretical planet called "Planet Nine". Planet Nine is theoretical because mathematics suggest it exists, but it has never been observed. Johnny Hubble is one of the pilots making the approach, but as he gets into the atmosphere of Planet Nine he loses control and crashes, only to wake up years earlier, just before a car crash that killed his girlfriend at the time. Hubble gets to rewrite his life and explore his relationship to his father. Overall, it's not bad, but as often with these high concept stories, it doesn't quite manage to convince. Or maybe I'm just too dumb to get it.
