Gros Plan du Macchabée by Léo Malet
The first Nestor Burma story chronologically, an investigation into a murder that happens on a movie set. The plot is quite elaborate but very much done in a Agatha Christie style which Malet didn't pursue much later. The more interesting aspect is Burma's personality, already quite well established, and the early encounter with an important recurring character, Marc Covet, journalist at Le Crépuscule. Doesn't rate amongst the best Burma novels, but enjoyable.
