The Impossible Fortune by Richard Osman

The Impossible Fortune by Richard Osman

The Thursday Murder Club is like a pair of battered old slippers. On the face of it, you might look down upon them, but once you slip your feet in, it's as comfortable as you've ever felt. This fifth installment is no exception: the plot is not stellar (though it holds a little bit better than some of the previous ones) and the level of feelgood occasionally verges close to "too much", but in the end  you close the book with a satisfied sigh and a grin on your face. What makes Osman's series so engaging is the core characters, gradually expanding out from the original four. They feel right, with their strengths, weaknesses and quirks. Another good'un.
