The Question by Dennis O'Neil

Over the last 6 months, for a reason I can't quite figure out, I slowly made my way through the entire run of The Question, a second-rate quasi-superhero comic from DC. This is 80s and early 90s with a couple of later specials. There's a lot of naiveté in The Question, and the hero's name not only refers to his identity but also in a more meta way to questioning the point of vigilante superheroing, and maybe even (through the character of Myra) the point of public office activities and politics. Overall it feels like The Question is tackling questions too big for it, but I felt a lot of the premises of the Vertigo label in there. Happy to have read although not sure I'd particularly recommend it.
