Whose Body? By Dorothy L. Sayers
I bought this because it was mentioned in the list of definitive books about closed room mysteries in the latest instalment of Knives Out. Unfortunately, while the lead character of dilettante investigator Lord Peter Wimsey (and his sidekick/butler Bunter) is very pleasant and the overall tone is light-hearted enough, I was largely unconvinced by the needless complexity of both the crime and the solution to the crime. None of it makes much sense, and while the detecting if interesting and clever, if the crime makes no sense it's all a bit lost on the reader. A disappointment.
