Sky Dancers by Henri Texier
I hesitated a fair bit before buying the latest Henri Texier record. I have a few of his recordings and collaborations, and they're always on the verge of what I find accessible, jazz-wise. I finally went for it, and I don't regret it for one second. Don't get me wrong, the music is out there. But it's not structure-less, at least to these ears, and it grooves, which is a pre-requisite for me. Corneloup on baritone brings a lot of umph, and Lê on guitar some bite. It makes it altogether a very very good record, highly recommended (if you like jazz, obviously).
