Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton

Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton

I bought this for my son who liked the movie more than I did, but ended up reading it myself. I read it 20 yrs ago, and it made an impression on me at the time, but re-reading it now it's damn clear that this is a f*cking amazing thriller, if you're into the genre. The buildup is all kinds of awesome, with the (believable to a layman) scientific foundations of the impending catastrophy well exposed in the first part. The sense of wonder of the protagonists that brutally turns to horror is very well laid out. A thrilling read. I need to identify more Crichton novels worthy of my attention now.
