Rock n' Roll Legend by Johnny "Guitar" Watson
I've owned this Charly compilation for ages but never gave it the attention it deserved. Upon (re)discovering T-Bone Walker I decided to give this a shot and boy was that a good idea. This is incendiary stuff, gorgeous arrangements, with a hint of Louis Jordan and a hint of Screaming Jay Hawkins, but really Watson's own thing. Superb, I'll come back to this one and hunt for more.
