Bride Stories by Kaoru Mori
This is a superb series of mangas set in XIXth century Central Asia. At the core is an arranged marriage and how it evolves, but also the political implications of said marriage in the conflicts between clans, with Russian meddling thrown into the mix. The attention to detail in the drawings is nothing short of stunning and results in a truly immersive experience. Well worth a read. My more detailed review (in French) is here.
