Baron Noir Season 1
There's ambition and (generally) high level acting in Baron Noir. Merad is cast against his natural talent, but holds his own and then some. The series isn't perfect though, with a bit of sloppiness at the edges (many of the developments aren't all that plausible for someone who has even a high level understanding of French politics) and a (sadly too frequent) tendency towards bad stuff pile up. In other words, you tend to see the strings a bit too often for my taste. Still, it's a good series, and by French standards among the top. Unlike Bureau des Légendes however, they're not yet level with American TV.
