I hadn't watched this in 20 years (or more) but it was time to show it to the kids (who are not so small anymore...) Although it feels dated at times, the esthetic of Gilliam's dystopia is so distinctive that it remains visually stunning. There are plot elements that feel a little contrived looking at it again (particularly Jill falling for Sam) but on the whole it more than holds the test of time.
