The Party
I have rarely seen a comedy so acerbic, and it's quite a thrill to watch and enjoy this. The stark black and white brings a grim outlook on an already grim set of characters. The setup is very theatrical: Janet has just been named Shadow Minister for health. She throws an informal party with her closest friends, but a succession of revelations throw the party off the rails. Scott Thomas is excellent, but so is the rest of the cast. It's short, snappy and funny in the darkest possible way. Excellent and highly recommended.
