First Recordings by RL Burnside
I had heard snippets of these recordings a long time ago but didn't know which record to find them on. I bought this one in the hope it would be the right one, and it was. These are raw, field recordings (although the sound quality is modern, and pretty damn good). They have a raw edge but at the same time, with just RL on acoustic guitar, they sound more convincing and sparse than many of his later recordings. Really amazing piece of blues history.
