Les Falsificateurs by Antoine Bello

I read this a decade ago, and enjoyed it, but only recently was I reminded of it and decided to reread it as RPG inspiration. The pitch is simple: Sliv Dartunghuver is hired into a secret organisation that falsifies reality and uses reality falsification to influence the course of human affairs. We follow Sliv as he first discovers the nature of the job (designing falsification scenarios and then figuring out how they can be implemented in the field) and then gradually the organisation he is a part of. It's fairly naive overall, but quite endearing. More importantly, it's interesting when you realise this was release a decade before "fake news" and social media. Definitely recommended as a great summer read if not more.
