Down in the Alley by Alvin Youngblood Hart

Down in the Alley by Alvin Youngblood Hart

I first discovered Hart as a young guy on Junior Wells' last album. He's part of that third generation blues players who went back to the roots and I still listen to his first album Big Mama's Door. I'd never heard of this one and it's similar in tone (solo gritty acoustic guitar and gruff singing). It's really wonderfully executed and full of soul, but also fairly accessible even if you're not into solo acoustic blues.
