The Atomic Flonfons by Alban Darche et L'Orphicube

I purchased this record on the basis of raving reviews in the French jazz press. I was worried it would be too intellectual and out for my tastes, but as it turns out, while it is those things, it's just on the right side of the border between interesting and hard to listen. Unfortunately for me, the singing style of vocalist Chloé Cailleton is verging on unbearable for me. I have a realy hard time with operatic singing at the best of times but for some reason here it grates beyond my ability to ignore. Oh well...
