Listen to the Music by Playing for Change
I love Playing for Change's videos of cross-cultural pop/soul. The concept is basically to have a few star performers play with other musicians from other cultures through (I'm guessing) post produced multiple performances. I bought the album partly to support their work, not expecting much. It's actually a nicer listen than I thought, although over-produced in my opinion (it's not striking when you watch the videos, but with audio only it sounds too sleek). Still, some of the street performers highlighted here, especially Roger Ridley and Grandpa Elliott are truly amazing. A good listen for a good cause, if not the album of the year (or was it last year ?)
