Much lauded British spy series. On the plus side, it's really well played, with a particular nod to Ben Whishaw who shines throughout. The premise, while a bit dubious is at least original and interesting (our lead character, Helen (Keira Knightley) is married to a rising politician and minister, but she's actually selling state secrets via an organisation she belongs to, the Black Doves). Unfortunately, plausibility does not seem to be part of the show runners' vocabulary, and while I was inclined to be forgiving in the early episodes, the level of what the f***erry really gets stratospheric towards the end. Why do I get the feeling this was written by the same who wrote Killing Eve? Mind you we finished Black Doves at least, while we'd canned Killing Eve. But in the series of implausible spy shows, at least Slow Horses had Gary Oldman...
