The Story of Funk - One Nation Under a Groove
I can't remember how I got hold of this documentary, but it's sadly not very good. I was keen for something that would delve a little deep into the trends that transitioned early rock and soul towards funk, but there was no depth. It's as if the Meters didn't exist, Sly and the Family Stone got only a brief mention, and forget about all the jazz musicians influencing and being influenced by funk. Story of Funk for dummies, not worth your time.
