The Revival by Cory Henry
Cory Henry of Snarky Puppy fame is a fantastic keyboard player. When I saw this release under his name, I just purchased it no questions asked. It was nothing like what I expected: mostly solo B3 pieces, with a few accompanied by a drummer and one piece with a singer. The best way to describe this is jazz drenched gospel. It's not between the two, it's clearly on the side of jazz, but Henry's jazz chops are there too and deliver another, deeply soulful take on gospel. Super album I'll be listening to a lot.
