Don't be shy by Ceux Qui Marchent Debout
I own all but one CQMD albums (need to get a hold of Check That Funk) and there are gems in all of them. Over the years, the tone of the albums shifted from raucous subversiveness in the early years to something more ambitious musically, but also more serious in tone. Don't Be Shy is a perfect fusion between those two trends (and anyone who saw them live knows the subversive humour is still there...) Every number in there is amazing, I particularly like Newgaloo with its awesome percussion break, the infectious dance title track, the ethnofunk Africa... Rosemary Standley's collaboration Feel Sorry is very cool as well. Anyway, it's more than worth it, even if, or maybe especially if you've never heard CQMD before.
