Kingsman
I'd heard mixed reviews about this spy movie, and didn't know if I'd like it. In the end I did enjoy it quite a lot. Some apparently thought it was excessively violent, but the violence is so theatrical that it creates quite a bit of distance. Despite the pools of blood, this isn't in any way a gritty movie. It feels more like a playful modernisation of the Bond franchise... sans Bond. Samuel Jackson as the wacky "evil for a good cause" mastermind is superb and Firth and Caine add the necessary old school British touch. Worth it.
