The Well of Lost Plots by Jasper Fforde
The Thursday Next series is undoubtedly one of the wackiest things I've read, and I have to admit that by this third book I may have reached my limit. Don't get me wrong: the ideas are absolutely brilliant, but they're so out there and there's so much that I have reached saturation point. There are several sub plots going on at the same time, numerous wacky concepts about the literary world introduced in the early chapters and... I just found it heavy going. The end is satisfying, I guess, but I won't be revisiting the series anytime soon.
