Judge Dredd Origins by Wagner, Equerra and Walker

I was made aware of this graphic novel through a review on Gromovar's blog. Dredd and an assortment of younger judges head out into the Cursed Earth in search of the stolen body of Judge Fargo, the founder of the Justice Department and the man who was cloned to produce Dredd himself (and Rico). Throughout the journey the authors unveil the foundation of the Mega-Cities and the Justice System. As with the best Judge Dredd books, this is both a crazy adventure, a darkly humorous tale and a pretty deep (if not wildly original) reflection on our society and where it's heading. Reading this while Trump is stretching the political meaning of "outrageous" on a daily basis was a bizarre synchronicity.
