Orbital #1-#6 by Pellé and Runberg

Orbital #1-#6 by Pellé and Runberg

At first there's an undeniable Valérian and Laureline vibe to Orbital. Humanistic Space Opera, an interplanetary equivalent of the UN, a couple of heroes not quite in love or are they... Pretty quickly though (as early as the first volume) there's a dark side to the story that emerges and distinguishes the series from what was (perhaps) an inspiration. Graphically speaking, while there is some Mézières in Orbital, there's also some Bilal and some Time Bird era Loisel. In fact many of the cool things about aliens reminded me of that series. One of the great things about Orbital is that while it seems serial at first, a broader story quickly emerges, pulling back elements from the early albums. Really good graphic novel format science fiction. I can't wait for volume 7 (will it be the last ?)
