Century by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill
I had to wait until the very last book in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen series to find something I really enjoyed reading. Century is three connected stories, one set in the 1910s, one in the 1960s and one in contemporary fictional Britain. It focuses on the trio of ex-Leaguers (at least for two of them) of Mina, Alan and Orlando and it's an occult story on the perpetuation of a sorcerer through time. The pacing is great, the depiction of each era quite nice (although the whole beginning of the 1910 is kind of off topic). The trio of main characters are finally ones that we can relate to (weird as they may be). So I guess it was worth reading the whole dissapointing series to get there, barely.
