Dirk Gently (BBC UK)
Someone recently mentioned the US adaptation of Dirk Gently (which I haven't seen yet) on Facebook, and in the comments there was mention of the older UK version. Assuming (as I always do) that a UK BBC version of a UK piece of work will always be better (or at least more faithful) I decided to start with this one. And this Dirk Gently certainly is faithful to the original Douglas Adams stuff. I don't remember the source material well enough to know if the cases are in the books, but the spirit is there in full. The actors are great in the non-flamboyant witty British tradition, the dialogs are very sharp and the stories are deliciously wacky. Only four episodes (to my teenage kids' great disappointment) but well worth tracking down.
