Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

I always felt that the Harry Potter movies didn't capture the wonder that the books evoked. They were too constrained by "what comes next" and fidelity to the book plot to truly let loose. But Rowlins' world is full of wonder, and Fantastic Beasts is the first time we truly get to see it. I loved everything about that movie. The cast is top notch, you're immersed in an eerie and slightly wacky 1920s New York, the beasts are wonderful in the truest sense of the word. I enjoyed every minute of it. Is it a kid's movie? Yes. Who cares though. I loved it.
