Monolith of Phobos by The Claypool Lennon Delirium

I have an odd relationship to Les Claypool. I usually want to like his stuff but fail to fully embrace the wackiness. As a consequence I tend to like him best in collaborations where others balance his extreme musical tendencies. Monolith of Phobos (like Oysterhead 10+ years ago) is the right balance for me, a work of psychedelic rock for the 21st century. I will need to listen to it again a few more times, but so far it's been both pleasant and fun listening to it.
