Watchmen
Despite (or perhaps because of) me being a huge fan of the Watchmen graphic novel I had avoided the movie ever since it was released. I got the opportunity to see it last week and... I kind of wished I hadn't. It's really not very good. Visually, it's dissapointing where it counts (particularly Doctor Manhattan) and the most stunning visuals from the graphic novel have been eluded by changing the plot. It's gimmicky as hell, with a lot of total disconnects (the Watchmen use kung-fu to fight, Adrian Veidt is a skinny teenager, and WTF is it about Rorschach's mask?) Most importantly, as a story it just doesn't work. Too many shortcuts, too much lackluster acting. I suppose if you compare it in depth to your standard Marvel movie this isn't the same category, but it doesn't make it a good movie.
