Parking Lot Symphony by Trombone Shorty
I hesitated to buy this album because Trombone Shorty's studio albums have dissapointed me in the past. They tend to be overproduced, excessively clean compared to the raucous live shows. In the end, Parking Lot Symphony is rather better on that count than the previous albums. Shorty's blend of New Orleans funk, jazz and rock comes out a little grittier and festive, with less sanitization. Still not the mindblowing album that I think he's got in him, but good listening.
