Roberto Fonseca, live at the Django Reinhardt Festival 2017
A (young) legend of Cuban jazz, a lush band with a baritone in the horn section, I should by all accounts have enjoyed Fonseca's gig, but I didn't. Two reasons essentially: I found the music quite poor (though flawlessly played), not jazz though plenty cuban. Most importantly though, I didn't feel the heart of it. This felt like a well rehearsed show that sounds more or less identical every night.
