Le Bonheur Occidental by Charles Berberian

Le Bonheur Occidental by Charles Berberian

I was such a huge fan of the early series by Dupuy and Berberian (Henriette, Monsieur Jean) that I've kept buying Berberian's new stuff. I don't quite know why, because it never delivers. Berberian has reinvented himself as a jaded critic of modern society that includes himself in those he criticizes, but it never feels right. Le Bonheur Occidental (Western Happiness) is no exception. It's a collection of stories, none of which truly work. I think I won't bother with whatever comes out next.
